Our tri-functional KR-8000PA SUPRA Auto-Kerato Refractometer combines an auto-refractor, an auto-keratometer, and a computerized color corneal topography mapping system all in a single, compact unit. By implementing Topcon’s exclusive rotary prism technology for the refraction portion of the measurement, the KR-8000PA provides objective data that is unmatched in accuracy and reliability, giving an accurate estimate of your glasses prescription, even with very young or challenging patients. The unit also incorporates ten placido rings for enhanced cornea curvature testing precision, providing corneal mapping measurements out to 10mm!  This unit is linked to a computer to produce color corneal topography, which is used to identify certain diseased corneas, and can also indicate high-risk lasik patients.

We also have a very sophisticated Scout topographer to monitor irregular corneas and design individually customized contact lenses, including bifocals, high astigmatism, and ortho-k lenses.

Our FDT is the first visual field instrument that's simple enough, fast enough, and compact enough to be used even in pre-test. FDT is a huge step up from the common wiggling fingers confrontation test. Our FDT provides a clinically verified, rapid method of detecting early visual field loss.

The FDT Perimeter brings the highest standard of perimetry into our practice.  Optic nerve disorders and certain neurological disease are readily detected.  The instrument produces screening results in only 45 seconds.

A significant risk factor of glaucoma is an elevated intraocular pressure.  Our Xpert Plus NCT can measure this without touching the eye and does not require anesthetic drops like the “blue light” Goldmann touching-tonometer does.  No blue probe touches your eye; therefore there is no concern of disease transmission from the previous patient’s eye touched by the same probe.  A digital readout eliminates technician’s errors of interpretation in the old types of measurement. 

Because some doctors have questioned the accuracy of this newer test method, studies have been done to assess the level of accuracy for measurements of intra-ocular pressure (IOP) compared against those obtained with the Xpert Plus, Goldmann applanation tonometer, and Perkins tonometer. Thirty-five university students were assessed in a randomized order, with non-contact tonometry performed first. No statistically significant differences were found when comparing the NCT with contact applanation tonometry. The NCT equaled the Goldmann for accuracy, and does so with no risk of disease transmission from patient to patient.
